Freyja Catron

An autumn rush hour

Lego block shipping containers

The Maribyrnong distorted by drizzle

We are pushed up against each other

like battery farm hens

Against the horizon

cranes tower over the docks,

demonic horses,

while seagulls dance in the mud

I’m not sure, with the rain blurring the view,

if I can see the ocean

or a factory lot

and when I step off the train

will waves lap at my feet

will nettles cover the station steps
